To submit a sales tax exemption claim, please provide the following:
- A copy of your state resale or tax exemption certificate
- Your order confirmation email or a copy of your receipt
- A completed Sales Tax Exemption Claim Form
- Be sure to include your BJ’s Membership number on the form

In Club Purchases
If you made your purchase at a BJs Club, make sure to present:
- A copy of your receipt
- The required documents listed above
Note: If you do not have your receipt, visit the Member Services Desk with your membership card and a valid ID. A team member can help locate your purchase details.
BJs.com Purchases
If you made your purchase on BJs.com, you may:
- Mail your completed form and supporting documents to the address listed above, OR
- Provide all required documentation via email to the BJ’s Member Care Team to initiate the request
Note: Member Care will collect required details (Membership ID #, Order #, and Order Date) and submit the request to the Tax Team for review.
Additional Notes: Our ability to refund the sales tax paid on your BJs.com purchase will be based on the resale/tax exemption laws of the state to where your order was shipped. If your purchase does not meet that state's guidelines, we will not be able to refund the tax. Purchasers must have an active BJ's Membership to qualify for a sales tax refund. If these criteria are met, a sales tax refund will be issued to the purchasing credit card.
