Why isn’t alcohol available for delivery from my club?
State and local liquor laws may limit our ability to deliver alcohol from a particular club. We are working to expand our delivery availability where we can, but we will always be restricted in some locations due to state and local liquor laws.
My club sells more alcohol than I’m seeing online. Why are only some types of alcohol available for delivery?

Why am I getting a message that I have more alcohol in my order than is legally allowed?

It seems like certain delivery days and times are never available when my order contains alcohol. Why is that?

Why am I getting a message that alcohol can’t be delivered to my address?
State and local liquor laws may limit our ability to deliver alcohol to your address. In particular, delivery across state lines is not permitted. BJ’s is required to adhere to these state and local liquor laws when selling alcohol in any channel.
Can I have alcohol delivered to me across state lines?
Due to state and local liquor laws, we are unable to deliver orders containing alcohol across state lines.

Do I need to be 21 to purchase alcohol from BJ’s?
Yes, you must be 21 years or older to both checkout and receive an order containing alcohol.
Can I order alcohol and schedule it to be delivered in advance of my 21st birthday?
No, you must be 21 years or older at the time of checkout when the order contains alcohol.
What forms of ID does BJ’s accept?
We will accept a valid and active government-issued form of identification, including a Driver’s License, State ID, Military ID or U.S. Passport. One of these forms must be provided and must match the person present to receive your alcohol delivery.
Will BJ’s accept a license from a state that is different from the delivery address?
Yes, we will complete delivery if the provided ID is a valid and active government-issued form of identification, and matches the person present to receive the order.
Can I use Same-Day Select for orders with alcohol?
Yes. Any alcohol items in your order will be included in the minimum order calculation for Same-Day Select delivery for orders where there is an active Same-Day Select package.
Can I substitute for another product if the alcohol I originally purchased is not available?
If your selected alcohol items are out of stock and a suitable substitution can be identified, you may be prompted to approve a substitution. We will not substitute for another product without your approval. We cannot substitute alcohol for a cancelled item that did not originally contain alcohol.
Can someone else be present to receive the alcohol?
Yes, we will complete the delivery as long as the provided ID is a valid and active government-issued form of identification, and matches the person present to receive the order.
Delivery
What happens if no one is home when the order is delivered?
If no one is home to receive the order, the driver may at their discretion leave some items unattended at the delivery address. Alcohol and high-value items will not be left. You will receive an automatic refund for any items that were not delivered, but you will not be refunded for the delivery fee or tip.
What happens if I don’t have my ID or if someone 21 years old or older is not there to sign for it? What if my ID is expired?
The driver will complete the delivery for any items that do not contain alcohol, but the alcohol will be returned to BJ’s. You will receive an automatic refund for any items that were not delivered, but you will not be refunded for the delivery fee or tip.
My driver refused to deliver the alcohol in my order even though I provided a valid ID. What should I do?
By law BJ’s may not deliver alcohol to a recipient who is visibly intoxicated or whose ID cannot be validated. Other state and local liquor laws may also apply. Delivery drivers are trained to ensure compliance. If you need further assistance, please contact our Member Care team.
What should I do if my bottle(s) are damaged during delivery?
Please contact our Member Care team for instructions if your alcohol items were damaged during delivery.
Returns
Can I return or exchange alcohol?
Alcohol product sales are final and may not be returned.
